What is the multistopper?

The IGB Multistopper was developed out of the practical experience of a departmental user. The idea behind the product is to combine the lethal force of a pistol with the nonlethal force of pepper spray in a way, that eliminates the risk of maloperation.

Real life examples have shown that having pepper spray in one hand and the pistol in the other - has led to instances, where stress led to shooting where spraying was intended.

The Multistopper spray discharge lever also functions as a cover for the trigger. The Multistopper thereby allows only spraying or only shooting.

The extended trigger finger is used to activate this lever and discharge the pepper spray.

During operation with the extended trigger finger, this lever covers the trigger guard and keeps the finger extended.

Inadvertent shooting while spraying or inadvertent spraying while shooting is not possible.

SCENARIOS

Spray only, no shooting Extended trigger finger - as trained while not ready to shoot - depresses the trigger guard lever blocking access to the trigger and simultaneously unlocking the pepper spray release.
From spraying to shooting If spraying is no longer necessary, or shooting becomes an option, the lever must be released purposefully to allow access to the trigger.
Shooting without prior spraying The gun is usable as usual, as the lever does not cover the trigger guard in its initial position. Pepper spray release is blocked.
