Information:
Compensator springs are not simply shortened standard springs. Compensator springs are distinct from standard springs in that they have less coils. The overall length remains the same due to higher pretension. The effect is to reduce the pressure required for unlocking, while sustaining sufficient power in the fully compressed state.
